Promoting the sport of Lacrosse by providing youth coed lacrosse programs and activities in the Verona Wisconsin area for grades 3 through high school.
The Youth Program is continually in need of head and assistant coaches. Many parents never played the sport of Lacrosse ... but it's never too late to learn. US Lacrosse and Verona Lacrosse Club offers player parents the tools needed to become a youth coach. US Lacrosse membershipand background check costs, as well as certification course/workshop costs will be reimbursed by VLC.
And, what better way to be part of a new sport that your player enjoys.
All coaches are required to complete the following:
Complete the US Lacrosse Level 1 Coaching Education Program (CEP) on-line course and test AND for boys coaches the How to Make Proper Contact on-line course.
Complete the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Double Goal Coach course on-line (or as part of a Level 1 CEP workshop).
Being Qualified: US Lacrosse requires that first-time VLC coaches must be "qualified" by the official start of the season. "Qualified" is defined as:
Coaches must have completed #1, #2, and #3 above prior to coaching their first official season game (these can be done in any order).
Coaches then have 16 months of coaching their first Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation (WLF) sanctioned event to complete the Level 1 CEP workshop (#4 above). NOTE: Often the PCA Double Goal Coach workshop is included with the Level 1 CEP workshop.
