Volunteer Policy (rev. 2026)

The Verona Lacrosse Club (VLC) is a volunteer organization. To ensure its ongoing success, all members are required to participate in volunteer opportunities. Although a buyout option exists, VLC depends on parent/ guardian volunteers to run each season. Therefore, we urge families to accept volunteer hours instead of choosing the buyout.

Volunteer Policy

  • There is a minimum volunteer hour commitment of 4 hours to play with the club. The hour amount changes with the number of players you have in the program, increasing by 2 hours for additional player. 1 player = 4 hrs. 2 players = 6 hrs. 3 or more players = 8 hrs.
  • A minimum of 1 hour is required at Badger Spring Invite (BSI).
  • There are numerous game and non-game volunteer opportunities that qualify for volunteer hours.
  • Tracking volunteer hours will be done within the Crossbar app. Please be sure you have access to the app and/or website to claim and track your hours. It is the parents'/ guardians' responsibility to ensure they have completed their volunteer hours.
  • Volunteer Coordinator(s) will coordinate game day volunteering opportunities.
  • Volunteer Coordinator(s) may implement and assign team-specific volunteer commitment deadlines to ensure volunteer commitments are met.
  • Volunteer opportunities for a family can be fulfilled by players 16 years or older or by players younger than 16 if under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Requests for exceptions to these age limit requirements may be granted by the Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Families unsure of the status of or have questions pertaining to their volunteer commitment should contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

Buyout option: Families who choose not to commit to volunteer hours for the league season can elect an upfront Volunteer Buyout option of $250 for their registered player. Families choosing the Buyout Option at the time of registration will be required to submit their payment at the time of registration.

Delinquency: All volunteer tracking is completed through the Crossbar App. When families agree to the volunteer policy during registration, they simultaneously authorize VLC to charge their account for any unfulfilled hours. The fee is $25.00 for each hour that has gone unfulfilled.

Equipment Rental Policy

Athletes playing on the boys teams can rent a helmet, chest protector, arm guards, gloves, and stick. Athletes playing on the girls teams can rent a stick and eye cage. Rental equipment will be handed out at the first practice and must be returned to the equipment manager or Team Parent Representative within 5 days of the final game of the season. General Image Usage Information

Generally, VLC will use images in their original form or enhanced, altered, or modified to promote the Verona Lacrosse Club on social media, enhance our website, and develop promotional materials to be distributed in our community. It is incredibly rare that a child would be identified by name on social media platforms as we strive to promote the collective strengths of VLC over the achievements of a single player. However, we want families to understand that there are potential risks when personally identifiable information is posted online, as global access to the internet prevents full control over who may view or use such information. These risks have always existed; however, our intent is to positively highlight and celebrate your child and their involvement in our program. Any parent is welcome to request an image be removed at any time. Contact the Webmaster to do so.
