Summer Girls Skill Spotlights
Verona Lacrosse Club is offering 7 "camp" sessions in which various essential lacrosse skills will be highlighted. Although individual skills will be targeted, all sessions will touch on all essential skills. Girls will be grouped by their grade level to promote age appropriate skill development. Camps will be run by VLC's experienced coaching staff and some of VAHS- MHHS's 2026 Girls Lacrosse Conference Champs & Sectional Runners Up!
We are happy to supply equipment if your athlete does not have their own!
Skill Spotlights Schedule
Friday, July 17th: Scooping & Ground Balls: Learn how to accurately scoop a variety of ground balls, effectively box out your opponent, and win those ground ball battles
Friday, July 24th: Stick Grip, Cradling, & Stick Protection: Do you know the "right" way to hold your stick?? (It might surprise you!) Learn how to properly cradle and protect your stick from checks, so you can maintain possession with ease!
Tuesday, July 28th: Throwing and Passing: Learn how to improve your throwing accuracy, locate your mark, and pass under pressure.
Friday, August 7th: Catching: Learn techniques that will improve your catching percentage and confidence to snag in the face of defenders.
Wednesday, August 12th: Shooting: High, Low, Off Stick Side? Learn how to place your shots more accurately and maybe how to sneak a bounce shot through the goalie's legs!
Tuesday, August 18th: Dodging & Strategic Movement: Fake, left! Fake, right! Learn how to fend off checks, and those pesky defenders.
Monday, August 31st: Put It All Together: Learn how to take your newly polished skills to the field!
Ages
Girls from incoming Kindergarteners to incoming 8th Graders are welcome to register. No Experience is needed!
G6/8 Level: Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
G10 Level: 3rd Grade - 4th Grade
G12/14: 5th Grade - 8th Grade
When
Various days through the months of July and August. Please see dates above.
All camps will run 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Where
July: Camps are located at the Girls practice field at VAIS in Verona. See map below.
August: Location will be added upon confirmation of availability.
Additional Information
If you have a stick, eye cage, and mouth guard, please bring it.
If not, we are happy to loan you a stick or eye cage for the camp day.
You must bring your own mouth guard.
2026 Girls Summer Skill Spotlights
Youth girls entering grades 1 - 8 can sign up for skills sessions run by our experienced coaching staff and a number girls from our 2026 conference champs & section runners-up high school girls lacrosse team! Each session highlights a different girls lacrosse skill, though all sessions with still touch on the most essential girls' lacrosse skills and development of lacrosse IQ.
No previous lacrosse experience is necessary and no need to have your own equipment! We will have some available for use at each session.
**Please bring your own mouth guard**
Spaces are limited and variable dependent on the number of available staff at each session.
